We are seeking a high-performing Project Coordinator to elevate our production team and help ensure projects run smoothly from planning through construction.
About the Role
The Project Coordinator provides organizational and administrative support to the project management team. This role helps coordinate project documentation, schedules, selections, and communication so that our project managers have the information they need to execute projects efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in residential remodeling or construction management. The position is designed as a growth path for a motivated, high-potential individual who aspires to develop into a Project Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Assist Project Managers with project setup and ongoing coordination
- Maintain project documentation and organize files within company systems
- Track project schedules, selections, and outstanding decisions
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for scheduling and documentation
- Prepare meeting notes and follow-up action items
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Assist with preparation of purchase orders and subcontract agreements
- Track submittals, approvals, and project selections
- Help prepare client progress reports and internal updates
- Assist the production team with day-to-day project needs
- Coordinate deliveries and materials when needed
- Support jobsite logistics and communication between office and field teams
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in residential construction or construction management preferred
- Education in construction management, architecture, or a related field is a plus
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

About the Role
Rust Construction is a design-build remodeling company based in Alexandria, VA. We’re hiring our first full-time Interior Designer—a talented professional with a passion for kitchen and bath design and the skills to deliver thoughtful, buildable design within real-world budgets.
This is a unique opportunity to build a department, not just fill a role. You’ll help define how we approach interior design, mentor future team members, and work closely with architects, project managers, and skilled craftspeople to bring beautiful, functional spaces to life.
What You’ll Do
- Lead interior design on residential remodeling projects (kitchens, baths, interiors)
- Create cabinetry layouts, finish selections, and materials palettes that align with client goals and budgets
- Produce design deliverables using tools like SketchUp, AutoCAD, or 20/20
- Collaborate with internal teams to align design intent with construction feasibility
- Help establish internal design standards, processes, and templates
- Contribute to a great client experience through clear communication and well-organized presentations
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience designing residential kitchens and bathrooms
- Proficiency with CAD software such as 20/20,
- SketchUp, or AutoCAD
- Strong sense of materials, layout, and function in home design
- Ability to balance creativity with cost awareness and constructability
- Clear communicator with strong collaboration skills
- Bonus: Experience with historic homes or permitting in the DC metro area
